Mill & Bird is a collection of understated, hand stitched leather bags that are designed and made for everyday use.  Krissy Anderson started Mill & Bird in 2010 and focuses on making bags with minimal hardware to showcase the natural beauty of leather. What really sets Mill & Bird bags apart is that they are completely handmade.  Krissy makes each bag in Durham, North Carolina using traditional leather working methods and tools - no sewing machines are used.  She hand cuts each bag, hand punches every hole, and saddle stitches every seam with waxed linen thread.  Saddle stitching provides strength and durability superior to sewing machine stitching.  Krissy's process results in small runs of bags made with a true focus on quality, durability and timelessness.   At Mill & Bird, we believe people recognize the value inherent in hand made items.  We think that there is beauty in simplicity and that nothing beats a beautiful hide of leather.  Our goal is to make simple, chic leather bags with timeless designs and quality construction that last a lifetime.
